worth reading

We're reading stuff, comics stuff even, and will have a post or two (or less) for you next week. In the meantime go check out Wednesdays Child, Paul DeBenedetto's very fine comics blog. His piece on Bill Willingham's controversial Big Hollywood column makes some of the same points I would if Hillary and I ever finally discussed that (which we've considered). Good stuff.

Wow. An "interesting" read from Bill Willingham's column. I have his "Fables" on an ever expanding list of comics to check out, but after reading that article, I'm not sure that I want to. If I were to judge his talent based only on this article I would say that he wasn't a very good writer. And as you said Ryan, Paul DeBenedetto makes the all the points I would in this arguement, so there's no need to bring any of that up.

Thanks for the free publicity! I'm not really sure what to think of Mr. Willingham, but I know I won't be buying JSA after Geoff Johns drops off the book. Which leads me into my next problem: my pull list has gotten absurdly small. What are you guys reading now?

I really like House of Mystery, which is made all the more interesting by this big hoo-ha, even though Willingham's not contributor numero uno. And I did end up reading the whole season 2 of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, which may be because I'm an idiot. I tend to read collected stuff, though.

Also, Bobby: You really should read Fables, regardless of what you now think of Willingham. It's a great book.
